The home of the Lontravorda, is like many other planets of the like; both artificial and natural; it is a deep blue water covered world teeming with sea life, the only landmass being archipelagos and a few lonesome, albeit larger, islands. None of these islands are more then 143 square miles in landmass. The Lontravorda planet, ceremoniously named "Tidal", is like most of the artificial planets on the AP, it was made to mimic the species original planet, even containing a large number of feral species that lived on their original planet, perhaps only because of dedicated conservation programs. Tidal is considered a beautiful place to be by all of it's inhabitants, especially compared to their original planet, near the end of it's dark ages... Cities and towns are located on the islands, making care to disrupt the functioning of the biosphere as little as possible, and many habitation domes in the water allow for the operation of one of the largest aquaculture operations on the Artificial Planet, providing food, esp. seafood to the other species. The aquaculture project cultivates mostly plants, small organisms such as plankton and minimal fish farming to offset the hungers of the otter-like species that lives there.
A disadvantage of water covered planets, though, is that poisons, oils, bacterias and the like can quickly contaminate a good area of water should they be released into it. It is for this reason that Shivanghi Seychelles finds herself at the present moment standing next to a huge crowd of her own kind and a varied group of visitors and tourists, all chatting ecstatically while waiting to be scanned for invasive viruses and the like before being allowed to board a sea tram to other parts of the planet. Shivanghi was not a claustrophilic. She was practically dying to get out of this crowd of sweaty, smelly crowd of humans, lizards and others and into a train car where she could be with her own species. Cursing her species over-developed sense of smell, Shivanghi decided to start some conversation.
"Not that I have any particular dislike of them, but don't these guys ever take a bath?" said the otter, in her native language, glancing over at another Lontravorda.
"Nope, heck, I bet a bunch of them have ever seen clean water before!" replied the other, shooting a wolfish grin at Shivanghi before continuing: "One things for sure, they'll have plenty of water here to take a bath for once!"
"Not that we should be complaining though, we probably smell worse to them then they do to us." The other Lontravorda seemed significantly less proud at this thought, so they quieted up a bit.
"We've still got extraordinarily better looks, though, dontcha think?" Shivanghi commented, encouraging a laugh from the other otter.
The two continued their banter for a minute or so, until an intercom announced (in seven different languages) that the detoxification procedures would begin. For a minute and a half, the crowd went through the relatively painless, but unsettling process of being scanned twice, showered in the appropriate gases and fluids and being scanned again afterwards. The intercom informed them that several hundred viruses and bacteria had been detected and eliminated, all of them somehow harmful to your every day living. They were then herded into different trams, depending on their destination. Shevanghi herself was headed towards the capital center of Tidal, to chat with a friend and tutor, Ekrid Malrow. Shivanghi felt though, that one specific reptile (Derag?) had looked at her more then twice during that whole process, but she dismissed it as a bit of harmless paranoia. After all, she didn't stand out very much among her peers.
"Honestly, every time I go through that procedure, I feel like my fur has been shaved and my skin has been turned inside out!" so said Shivanghi very loudly once entering a tram car. Her conversation partner nodded grimly and agreed, shaking slightly. _________________ Congraturation.
